Buying from Build Depot

Buying from Build Depot is simple - just choose from one of three options:

In branch

Drop into your local branch and discuss your requirements with a member of our experienced sales team. After choosing and paying for what you want from our extensive range of quality products, your order can be picked up from our friendly warehouse staff and you’ll be back on your job in no time.

Click & Collect

Buy the products you need online and collect them in branch within an hour. Collection is completely free.

Home or Site Delivery

Order all the products you want online and select the delivery option at checkout, after paying for your order you will receive a text, email or phone call to confirm the date your order will be delivered.

Deliveries

Our normal delivery days are Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, in most cases your item(s) will be dispatched within 24 to 48 hours providing we receive your order by 2pm. We use our own transport for local deliveries and reliable carriers such as the Royal Mail and Parcelforce for non-local area, typically you can expect your item to arrive within 3 working days. However, on rare occasions your delivery may take longer due to factors beyond our control.

Online Delivery Charges

Unless stated otherwise, the price for items ordered online will be shipped excluding carriage charges, and at the checkout you will be presented with various postage options, depending on the item(s) ordered. These choices will be clearly shown as Next Day Delivery, Timed Delivery, Saturday Delivery etc.

Ex-Depot Delivery Charges

If your post code is within our delivery area then this will be delivered for a specific charge which will be added to your order during checkout. We will endeavour to deliver as soon as possible, normally next day, however this may take longer depending on the vehicle route and already committed deliveries for that day.

Deliveries on Build Depot Own Transport

Upon receipt of delivery, you are advised to check and inspect goods thoroughly for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit and notify the driver immediately. In the rare occasion the goods are damaged or incorrect, please mark any discrepancies on the driver’s copy of the paperwork.

Deliveries by External Carrier

Please notify us immediately in the event of any shortages or damages to your parcel that may have occurred during transit.

Disclaimer

Please do not book any trades persons to complete a job involving goods ordered from us, until all parts of your order have been received in good order. M&J Builders Merchants cannot be held responsible for any delays, standing time charges that you may incur due to damages, defects, faults, or issues with goods in transit. Return within 7 days.

Faulty or Damaged Goods

If a product is suspected to be faulty or damaged, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt and a replacement or refund will be arranged. If a product has been fitted and/or used and is suspected to be faulty, please contact us immediately and we will resolve the issue according to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.

Delivery Service

Returns

We are governed and adhere to, the United Kingdom Distance Selling Regulations. This means we will accept returns and offer a full refund if the item is unused, and unopened and still in the original packaging. Please note that we cannot accept returns or cancellations for orders that have been ordered as a special item.

To return your order, please pack it securely and send it back to us, we must receive it back within 7 days of the date that you received it. Please note that it is your responsibility for returning the goods at your expense unless we delivered the item to you in error, or the item is faulty. A refund will be issued as soon as possible but within 30 days at the latest.

Refunds

If you cancel your contract between us within the seven-day cooling-off period we will process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case, within 30 days of the day on which you gave us notice of cancellation. In this case, we will refund the price of the goods in full, (excluding delivery charges). However, you will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. Products can only be returned if packaging is not broken and is unworn/ not used.

Returns Procedure

Whether you have changed your mind or the goods you have received are faulty, and wish you to return the goods, please contact our customer service team on 01475 723737 or email us at info@build-depot.co.uk and we can discuss this with you. Our friendly team will be able to give you advice on the best way to return goods to us. 

Our returns Policy sits alongside and is subject to our full terms and conditions. When you return items to us, please include all parts, components and extras and drain any fuel and oil. If your item is powered by lithium batteries, please return your purchase to branch.

Order Cancellation

Cancellation: You may cancel an order (subject to the above paragraph) and receive a full refund, to do so please email info@build-depot.co.uk and reference your order number. You are able to cancel up until the order is dispatched for delivery. Once the Goods are out for delivery, you will need to take delivery of the Goods before you can cancel/return any Goods.

Returns after Delivery: You may cancel your order and return any of the Goods purchased to us by giving us notice of cancellation within 28 days of the date of delivery. You will lose your right to cancel after the expiry of the 28 day period (this does not affect your rights if there is any problem with the Goods).

Special orders or non stocked items may be subject to a cancellation fee or supplier restocking charge which will be deducted from your refund.

Non-Returnable Items

We don’t accept returns on any bagged products, e.g. plaster or cement and bespoke items such as mixed paint are excluded. For a full list of exclusions see the Terms & Conditions of Trade.

There are some items that are excluded from the 28-day unwanted items return: made-to-measure goods (items cut or mixed to your requirements), used macerators, toilets, water pumps, and boilers where the box/product has been opened.

Return items 1m in length or 2kg in weight cannot be returned via post office – please contact us at info@build-depot.co.uk for advice on posting these items.

Please be aware that the cost of returning any large pallet deliveries will be considerably higher than the delivery charge. If you have any question or queries about a product, please contact Customer Service prior to placing an order.

The returns policy is specific to goods purchased from the www.build-depot.co.uk website. For products purchased through one of our branches please refer to the branch from which you made the purchase for returns information.

Faulty or Damaged Goods

Under 28 days: If your item is faulty, we’ll collect it from you free of charge and offer you an exchange or a refund.

Over 28 days: Check if the manufacturer of your item has a helpline, a repair or warranty service, or a collect and repair service. If there’s no warranty or repair service, email us at info@build-depot.co.uk or drop into your nearest branch and speak to a member of the team about what to do next
